Bananas Don't Travel Well

This fresco was on the ceiling of a hall chronicling scenes from the life of the Emperor Constantine in the Vatican museums. The overall theme of the work was the triumph of Christianity over paganism; thus, the toppling of the Greco-Roman statue and its replacement by the crucifix. The piece was conceived by Rafael, but was executed by his disciples after his death.
